on Wednesday 17 September 2008 - 14:02:46 | by Jen SmithNEKYS 4th Annual JUMP Jazz Jubilee, held Saturday, June 14th at the Morse Center for the Arts on the beautiful St. Johnsbury Academy campus was a great success! Live jazz music by the St. J Jazz Quartet, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and our silent and live auctions attracted more than 75 community members in support of NEKYS successful JUMP Mentoring Program!
Auction items included: a 6-day African photo safari from Zulu Nyala Group; an iPod nano; and 7-nights lodging in Aruba's gorgeous Divi Village Resort! Stunning original artwork, vacation packages, sports memorabilia and Vermont specialty items rounded out the auction tables. A moving testimonial from one mentor and her JUMP mentee highlighted the positive impact mentoring can have on young people's lives.
Over $16,719 was raised during this exciting evening, and all proceeds go toward providing caring, adult mentors to students in area schools. NEKYS extends our sincere thanks to all of our generous sponsors, donors and volunteers. Don't miss out on next year's spring event!
